Each year we take a special offering in the fall, designated a “Harvest Offering,” a chance to thank God for His boundless goodness throughout the year. This is a special gift above and beyond your normal giving, and a great opportunity to see God work through the generosity of his people. The 2012 offering is coming in November (start saving if you haven’t already!). Enjoy the video below, captured during the Harvest Offering last year.
EDIT: an update on the targeted projects…
This year’s Harvest Offering is scheduled for November 4. Our project will be to complete the renovation of our Family Center. In 2009, we renovated our children’s ministry area on the upper level. Additional gifts have come in over the last two years which allowed us to re-carpet the lower level and install an in-ground volleyball system. This year’s project will involve painting the ceiling (including the steel beams), painting the north wall and installing a new product in place of the carpet, installing brighter and more efficient lighting in the lobby, and installing a couple of strategically positioned flat screens to aid in communication of announcements and information. The total cost of this project would be around $15,000. We are asking you to prayerfully consider a special gift toward this project.

I remember growing up in a church that did a Harvest Offering…not a wealthy church by any means. The goal was to “give one full paycheck,” which was a big stretch for many. I remember my parents saving 1/26th of each paycheck throughout the year so they could do this. Their generosity has stayed with me all these years; I hope my kids “download” the same generosity from us.
