We are glad that you’ve taken this step of visiting our website to learn more about the ministries of Forest Hills Baptist Church. We are currently offering three Sunday morning worship services (8:30, 9:30, 11:00). Some choose to dress formally but most dress casually. We encourage you to come as you are. Follow the signs to the Hub – our central gathering space.
Each service is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long. We want people to encounter the gospel in our worship. So we consider God’s character. We reflect on our own sin and desperation. We celebrate the offer of forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ. And we embrace our calling to serve God with our lives. Please note that the 8:30 service is conducted in the Hub – a smaller and more relaxed venue. This service is shorter – 45-50 minutes – and includes less congregational singing. We ask that all those attending the 8:30 service wear a face covering for the duration of the service.
We value both older songs that reflect the rich heritage of our faith and newer expressions of praise to our God. On any given Sunday you might hear piano, guitar, violin, drums and flute. The Scriptures are also read as part of every service. We do take an offering each week, but there is no pressure for guests to participate. You will not be singled out or embarrassed in any way.
Those who bring the message each week teach Bible passages verse by verse and give practical application. All of our teaching centers around the gospel – God’s good news for humanity. Note pages are generally available to help you follow along with the teaching. Extra Bibles are also available in the foyer for your use.
You will hear about opportunities to get connected with other believers through Adult Bible Fellowships (Sunday mornings). We believe that God designed us to grow spiritually in the context of community.
As you arrive, the main entry to our facility is through the glass doors under the canopy. There are some guest parking spots available closest to the main entrance. You will be welcomed by greeters who will assist you in finding classrooms, nurseries, restrooms and the worship center. There is a barrier free family restroom on the main level.
Canyon Edge Kids is our Sunday morning program for pre-K-6th grade. Classes are offered at both the 9:30am and 11:00am services. The infant nursery (0-24 months) is conveniently located directly across from the entrance to the worship center. Classes for preschool and above are located in our children’s area off of the Hub. Kids are checked in for an exciting opening time at the Canyon Edge Outfitters area. They then break out for an age-appropriate Bible lesson.
Child check-in kiosks are located in the Hub at the entrance to the children’s area. For security, each child must be registered to enter a classroom. At the check-in kiosks, you will print a name tag for your child and a parent tag for you. Only the person with a matching parent tag will be permitted to pick up a child after services. The numbers will change each visit. Please be sure to let our staff know if your child has any special concerns – dietary, developmental, medical, or otherwise. We will be happy to accommodate you! And of course kids are always welcome in the worship service as well. We are very concerned about the safety and well-being of your children. All of our staff have undergone background checks and are functioning under the guidelines of our Child Protection Policy.
A class for students in grades 7-12 is offered at both 9:30am and 11:00am. The main connection time for our students is their weekly youth group gathering on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm (during the school year).
