The Greek word tribos is used three times in the Bible, each in reference to John the Baptist and his call to “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.” John’s call was to clear any obstacles that might keep people from coming to the Messiah. As Christ’s followers, we are called to do the same.
This campaign is not about constructing a large or lavish facility. Instead, it is about removing physical, logistical and cultural barriers. We want to prepare a clear, well-worn path where people can encounter Jesus and fully enter into the life of the community.
This will involve some changes to our facility, but just as important, we pray that this endeavor will change us. We pray it will continue to turn our hearts outward toward those who need Christ.
